I used Airfix's 1/72 scale kit painted to match AE979 R.A.F.'s evaluation aircraft minor conversion. The tanker truck is Airfix's R.A.F refuelling set A.E C Matador. Lots of added details to the truck, figures are Airfix RAF ground crew, concrete floor is by Verlinden, static grass was used for the green stuff.

As our parents, grandparents and friends who were "hands on" with the P-38 Lightning are continuing to leave us, keeping this website available as a tribute to them is vital.
